Does anybody know where one can find resources on pre-war Grand Prix racing?

I’ve been reading Enzo Ferrari’s biography and it’s sparked my interest in the era. It seems like it was quite disorganized and and it’s hard to find information on just how many races there were, what classes there were and how they evolved over the years, and how many small manufacturers that have been forgotten, if there are any.

Some info here:

Replace gp35 in the url with year you’re most interested in.

Edit: see now you’ve already found this.

This is a great book if you can find it, long out of print. Loads of info pre- and immediate postwar cars & races.

Check out British Pathé, they have a ton of prewar archive footage and I think I remember seeing some racing stuff

I can’t point you to any resources but the Mercedes Solver arrows seem to be the best documented so you should start your reseatch with those. Alfa also had quite a storied prewar racing history.
